Big Print Project is a Creative Cultural Collaborations Society (C3 Society) project. It takes place Saturday September 3rd and Sunday September 4th from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Imperial Landing parking lot, 100- 4300 Bayview St, Steveston, BC. Working with a team of Japanese Canadian and Indigenous artists, this project will build on the past success of Big Print Chinatown 2016 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEXiQtkdBBs)

Seven prints will be designed and cut by artists Mariko Ando, Dona Nabata, Atheana  Picha, Kinichi Shigeno, Debra Sparrow, Cyler Sparrow-Point/Isaiah Sparrow, and Richard Tetrault/Gerald Pedros.  The resulting prints will be displayed at 100- 4300 Bayview along with a selection of prints pulled from previous projects.

C3 gratefully acknowledge the support from the City of Richmond, Onni Developments, Malaspina Printmakers Society, and the BC Arts Council.

 

 

grunt gallery, Other Sights for Artists’ Projects, and Creative Cultural Collaborations (C3) are thrilled to announce the public launch and first open house of the historic Blue Cabin Floating Artist Residency on Date: August 25, 2019

Location: Plaza of Nations in False Creek.

Time: 11:30 am to 5:30 15 minute tours

This event is free and open to the public.

The August 25th public launch will include the announcement of the cabin's first full season of programming, as well as tours of the facility every 15 minutes from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for a maximum 20 people per tour on a first-come, first-served basis. It's a chance to see not only the cabin restored carefully by artists Jeremy and Sus Borsos, but the 500-square-foot deckhouse--an energy-efficient structure featuring off-the-grid water and power systems--designed by artist Germaine Koh and architect Marko Simcic last year.

Al Neil Collages 1984 -1999 is a collection of Al’s work that Carole Itter donated to support the Blue Cabin Floating Artist Residency capital campaign. These never-before-seen works of Al’s (part of his personal collection) were showcased at C3 STUDIOS - 884 E. Georgia Street.

Thank you to Carole Itter, Esther Rausenberg and Amy Nugent for making this possible. Thanks to Carole's significant and generous donation, 100% of the proceeds from the sales of these works support the Blue Cabin Residency build.
